“Don’t tell me to prove it, cos’ I might lose it”- August Alsina

All I can say as an excited fan girl is… August Alsina has a new sooooooong!!!!

1393946972_august_alsina_86

The track was dropped yesterday and it is titled Why I Do It and it features Lil Wayne on it too. August Alsina took to Twitter yesterday to announce the arrival of this new song. Keeping the same ‘August vibe’ that we know and love, this is a breath of fresh air for August Alsina. This song is all about why he does the things he does, hence the name of the track.

The track starts with the one and only, Lil Wayne. With no intro necessary, Wayne gets right down to business with his racy, explicit lyrics. But this is how we know him and we aren’t complaining, we don’t plan to either.

IMG_20150828_110954

August brings his irresistible style and voice to this track. He makes it known that even though one of the world’s best rapper’s features on this track, this is still his song and he doesn’t make us forget that. Although August Alsina isn’t what I would call extremely explicit in his music, he does however take his sexual side to another level, saying things like “Cause when the hoes see me shop, you can see the panties drop. Runnin’ up a check ,get ’em so wet”.

How girls faces be when they hear those lyrics

How girls faces be when they hear those lyrics

These lyrics even comes across as extremely confident in knowing what girls want and maybe even knowing what he could get, “She wanna know if she can bring her friends, But my n*ggas wanna know if they’re pretty. Yeah they can tag along. Bet you I could tag ’em all”. His confidence has really taken a step up. This is evidence that August Alsina is maturing and growing as an artist. Proving that he is aiming for the top. Making sure each track he puts out is better than the previous one.

Racy and confident lyrics aside, this song is all about August telling fans and those who don’t know him but claim that they do, the reasons as to why he do what he does. Also that he doesn’t have to explain himself when it comes to the things he does. Saying “I ain’t gotta tell you why I do it. Nigga I don’t ask why you do your job” and “I ain’t gotta tell you why I do it. N*gga that’s my business. Even if you say you don’t f*ck with it”.

1440694792_9ba066d49662af775cb78f71f53aeac3

August Alsina is proving that he is on his way to snatch that number one spot from whoever has it. But let me stop praising this song and allow you to have your own opinion.

Baby let’s cut down the lights
I just really wanna let this fire burn bright
I’m just telling you to have an open mind
Just imagine us

You’re taking me there, you’re taking me there
Our lips are barely touching
So do it again, so do it again
We could be on to something

Heyo, heyo, I just wanna feel your body on me
Heyo, heyo, if you want it then you got it, hold me

THEY DROPPED IT & IT’S HOTTT!

body on me058‘Body on me by Rita Ora and Chris Brown: Love the song? You’ll love the music video! Is it even okay to say that it is the hottest music video out right now? Well if you don’t believe me, you should stop reading this and go check it out immediately!

Link to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwL9vOBxeXY

If one should think of artists that should do a track together, Rita Ora and Chris Brown would have never crossed our minds! But they took this track and surprised fans and then went a step further by blowing them away with the sexiest video to date! Talk about chemistry! bom

In this video, Rita and Chris both live in the same apartment building. Coincidently, they live “across the hall” from each other, as Rita mentions in the beginning. The two then have a moment in the elevator and this is where it all begins. We see the both of them walking back to their apartments at the beginning. Rita leans against the door and starts to swoon over Chris, thinking about him and (even if it’s acting) she has ‘in love’ written all over her face. We then get to see Chris enter his apartment and leave the door slightly open as if he is waiting for Rita to follow him right in.

IMG_20150820_082944

He then gives fans what they’ve been waiting for and takes off his shirt. Like he doesn’t even wait for the middle of the video, he strips right in the beginning! Ladies, I see you!
We also get to see close ups of the two getting uhm cosy, which looks like its taking place in the elevator. These parts actually makes one think: is this really them acting or is there actual chemistry between the two?body on me closeGuys, don’t worry, there are some yummy scenes of Rita as well. Rita can be seen topless while holding a British flag around her in parts of the video. We also get to see close ups of her beautiful face as she sings to the camera.

bodyonme85This video’s story line is about two people that clearly want each other, but all they’re doing most of the time is fantasizing about the other one. They can also be seen watching each other through their apartment windows.IMG_20150820_083156
As the video proceeds, things only get steamier! In the video, CBreezy and Rita are seen getting way too close. Touching and grabbing is the name of this music video’s game! We then move on to see Chris knocking at Rita’s window, telling her to come outside. They then continue the amazing chemistry on the roof of the building and Chris shows off his dance moves, finally! He then dances with Rita and the two makes it look so effortless.

bom02The only mystery that this video will leave fans with a million questions is: were Chris Brown and Rita Ora actually kissing in the last few seconds? Or was it just really good acting?
What makes this video a 16 out of 10, is the fact that Chris brown and Rita Ora are not and have not been romantically involved (or that we know of…), yet they make it so believable in the video.

The way their facial expressions are when they sing a verse. The way that they move together, making us believe they are a couple who just can’t get enough of each other. They will make you believe that they are genuinely singing the song to each other. The whole idea for the video was just magic. And unlike some songs, this video idea WORKED WELL with the song itself.

body on me RitaIf you’re a die-hard Chris Brown fan and won’t be able to handle another woman touching and grinding on him, then I suggest you stay far away from this video. According to a source close to Rihanna, Riri allegedly has a problem with the steamy video. To Rihanna, Rita broke girl code and that just doesn’t sit well with her. “There’s no love lost between them, but this is another example of what Rihanna perceives to be a lack of respect by Rita” a source confirms. Does Rihanna have the right to be upset with Rita? Chris is after all her ex-boyfriend. On the positive side concerning CB fans, you also get to see Chris’ sexiest side and he isn’t afraid to show it! Step aside Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill, let Chris and Rita show you how to do it right in a video!

HONESTY: The not so best policy

This just happened to cross my mind. I think some people might find this rude, but first read it and then judge.

At funerals, people always have the nicest things to say about the person who died. Like you’ll be sitting there, not knowing the person who has passed on, but just by what everyone is saying about them, you’d imagine that this person was an angel; the best person in the world. This person has never had an enemy or was never rude to anyone and this person was probably in church more than you were. But then I thought about it, how weird would it be if people actually told the truth?

you look nice

I’ve always heard people say, “No, when I die, they must be honest“, but let’s face it, it would be wrong if people told the truth about the person that died. Imagine you’re at a funeral and the person who was asked to do a eulogy says something like, “Tina was a good person at times, but she had many enemies. She could never keep a steady friendship. She always lost friends because of her bitchy attitude. She never had girl code. Always stealing other girls’ boyfriends. That’s why the church is so empty today“. Just writing that just made me feel bad.

people-weddings-next-funerals-meme-kid-fail-saying-funny-funnypics-funnypictures-hilarious-rofl-lmao-humor-comedy-joke-lolpictures-lolpics-lol-pictureSo imagine honesty was the best policy at funerals. I think people would be more mortified at what the speaker said than the fact that someone they loved had passed on. I asked my mom what she would say at my funeral if I should pass on before her. I asked her to just give one honest sentence and she said, “I’ll say thank God this child’s mouth will be closed forever. I won’t be getting an answer back for everything anymore. I will have the last say”. When she said that I felt a bit bad, because it’s a funeral, you’re supposed to miss me, not be glad. (She obviously was joking; my mom LOVES me)

Just a random thought and at the end of it all: I guess that’s why it’s called a eulogy. The person asked to speak should be positive. At funerals you are expected to look at all the memories and mention all the good things that an individual has done, despite all the bad.

But just imagine an “Honesty is the best policy” funeral.

Cole World : The Success Story

“Young nigga with his jeans low. Nice guy just got a mean flow. Never seen rich but he’s seen poor. Mr Dolla and a Dream in case you ain’t know”. Has he made it any clearer that he is the realest nigga ever?

j-cole-be-free-letterman

In Frankfurt, West Germany, Jermaine Lamarr Cole was born on the 28 January 1985 and from the age of 8 months was raised by his mother in Fayetteville, North Carolina. J.Cole’s father wasn’t in the picture because he left when Cole was still young. He attended Terry Sanford High School and later attended St. John’s University. Cole grew up with a love for basketball and rap music
He was inspired by rappers such as Tupac, Eminem, Nas and Canibus. These rappers made him develop a love for story telling in his lyrics. At the age of 14, Cole’s mother bought him an 808 beat machine so that he could produce his own music because he had books filled with lyrics, but had no beats of his own. Using the name, Therapist, he started posting his songs on various internet forums by the age of 17. He was also shunned by Jay-Z after he stood outside for three hours, after wanting to give him one of his demos. Cole then released his first mixtape called The Come Up, but this didn’t get significant recognition.

He then released his second mixtape , The Warm Up in 2009. That year, Cole appeared on Jay-Z’s “A Star is Born” on the album The Blueprint 3, as well as Wale’s mixtape Back to the Feature and his debut album Attention Defict. 2010 was also a busy year for J.Cole. He appeared on B.O.B’s mixtape on the song Gladiators. He also ranked 49th in Beyond Race Magazine’s “50 Breakthrough Artists”. XXL magazine also featured him on the Top Ten Freshmen. His hit single and crowd favourite “Who Dat” was released in April that year and featured on Miguel’s “All I want is you” debut single. In celebration of his mixtape The Warm Up, he released a freestyle called The Last Stretch in June. He also released the music video for “Who Dat” on 106 & Park in August. He received the UMA Male Artist of the Year award for The Warm Up mixtape. This also got him recognised by Jay-Z and was signed to Roc Nation. He then released a third mixtape called Friday Night Lights and had Drake, Wale and Omen as features. Cole was also responsible for most of the production on this mixtape. So many achievements and this was just in 2010.

hm_interactive_dreamville.9And in the year 2011, it just got better. Cole produced a song for Kendrick Lamar called “HiiiPower” and it was released in April that year. He also accompanied Drake on Light Dreams and Nightmares UK Tour as a supporting act. On June 15, 2011 he then released “Work Out”. This song later became a hit single, being at the top of several music charts. The video for “Work Out” premiered August 15 on Youtube, Vevo and 106 & Park.

After an unfinished version of J.Cole’s “Can’t get enough” ft. Trey Songz was leaked, this track was announced as the album’s second single. While being in Barbados doing his last performance on Rihanna’s Loud Tour as the opening act, Cole shot the music video for “Can’t get enough” which featured Trey and home girl in her hometown who made an appearance closer to the end of the video. The video was released on the 14 September 2011. A few days later, September 27, Cole World: The Sideline Story was released. This album sold 218 000 copies in the first week and found itself at number one On the US Billboard 200 Chart. In December that year, the album was certified gold for shipments and selling of 500 000 copies by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Soon after, during an interview with Hot 106 morning show, Cole also announced that he had already begun working on his second studio album. Also saying that certain songs that didn’t make his debut album, definitely made his second one.

In 2012, He released the album’s third single titled “Nobody’s Perfect” which features Missy Elliot. He was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys, but didn’t win. In February, he released the song “Grew Up Fast” in celebration of reaching two million Twitter followers. He also performed during the Big Brother Africa 7 ceremony in May. This was J.Cole’s first time in Africa. Using a clever way to throw hints about a new album, Cole released the song “The Cure”. J.Cole waited until Kendrick released his album, to reveal his new album. He then dropped a single from his up and coming album called “Miss America”. Although Cole knew this single wouldn’t be a radio hit, he stated that he had hoped that this track would shift music to a different direction saying in an interview, “To Me, Miss America shift things a little bit, it changes the conversation it takes it in a more aggressive direction, more raw, more social commentary.. Any type of commentary is good compared to what a normal single is these days. That’s my aim, is to shift culture slightly, change the conversation. Nobody expects that for your first single”. This song featured on the deluxe version of his Born Sinner album. Born Sinner was originally supposed to be released on Cole’s Birthday, 28 January 2013, but as the time got closer, he revealed that the album wasn’t ready yet and that he still needed more time to get it just right. He then revealed another set release date which was 25 June 2013, but decided to move it a week up after hearing that Kanye was releasing his Yeezus album on the June 18. He did this as a strategic move to compete with Kanye, later in an interview saying, “This is art, and I can’t compete against the Kanye West celebrity and the status that he’s earned just from being a genius. But I can put my name in the hat and tell you that I think my album is great and you be the judge and you decide.

In the United States, the album sold 297 000 copies in its first week. The album also made it to the number two spot on the Billboard 200 chart, behind Yeezus himself Kanye West who took the number one spot.

Being the creative guy that he is, J.Cole released a video, announcing that he will be releasing his third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive. He announced that the album will be released on the 9 December 2014. The name of the album was inspired by Cole’s childhood home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Unlike his previous albums, Cole didn’t release any singles off the new album. The album was also available for pre-order on iTunes before its official release date.

11000878_10153157072283449_5338501585291100405_nCole then promoted his album with a tour titled Forest Hills Drive Tour.
To go a step further to prove that this guy is definitely underestimated, he purchased his childhood home in North Carolina and plans to turn it into a shelter for single mothers and their children to live, rent-free.

If this doesn’t make you place J.Cole at the top of your number one rapper’s list, then re-read this article!

Hey you! Yes, you reading this right now.

As you’ve soon come to realize while visiting my blog and reading my posts, that it is filled with everything to do with the entertainment industry. Well since this is my blog, I’ve decided to add a new category to it called “Chanice’s Thoughts” or something like that. Posts that will consist of #Throwback posts, opinions about things and maybe even posts that gives advice to people who don’t even know they need it. You do get what I’m trying to do right? I just feel that since this is a blog that belongs to a 21-year-old, it should consist of more than just the world of music, even though I am simply obsessed with that world. So before I go ahead and start posting my thoughts and opinions about different topics not just whether or not Rihanna and Chris Brown will ever get back together or if Kim’s going too far with this whole “breaking the internet” thing, I just thought I’d let you know what’s up.

This is me, making changes and owning MY blog. New changes to making an even better blog to read.

J’adore, Rihanna!

Rihanna

If we think about Rihanna’s achievements throughout the years, one cannot help but feel proud. She started out as a young hopeful living in Barbados trying to get her big break to now being known worldwide for her many achievements and she’s only 27!

Just to mention a few of her accomplishments; Rihanna was named the “Best-Selling Digital Artist of all time”. She has won many awards including 2 Brit Awards, 8 Grammy Awards, 23 Billboard Music Awards and 8 American Music Awards.  Many of her songs were number one on numerous charts and have also been ranked amongst the best of the best. She released seven albums with an eighth album on its way. We also saw her in movies like Bring it On: All or nothing in 2006 and Battleship in 2012 (this would also explain why Rihanna refers to her fans as Navy). With winning the first-ever America Music Award Icon award in 2013, Rihanna has shown the world that it is never impossible to achieve the impossible.

Just when you thought Rihanna could not achieve anything greater than all her past achievements, she shows the world yet again that she’s an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. In March this year (2015), it was announced that Rihanna is the new face of Dior. This announcement wasn’t just any achievement in Rihanna’s books but also a first for Dior. Rihanna is the first black spokesperson for this brand.

Known for being the founder of Christian Dior, one of the top worldwide fashion houses, Christian Dior was a designer who grew up in Northern France. Christian was born in the town of Granville but moved to Paris, France when he was five years old. He had four siblings and he was the second eldest of five children.  His parents had high hopes of him becoming a diplomat but Christian had other plans in mind. He was very artistic and had developed an interest in art. Although some might not have known, Christian was gay, but he wasn’t very open about it. He decided to leave school and his Father helped him start his own little art gallery where he went into a partnership with his friend.

Due to a family tragedy the gallery had to be closed 3 years later. Christian went on to do many things before starting the Christian Dior Brand like; he worked for a well-known fashion designer, he also joined the army soon after and he joined Lucien Lelong’s fashion house. He then went on to start his own fashion house; one of the world’s top fashion houses.

The French fashion house was founded on 16 December 1946, but celebrates 1947 as its established year. The first Dior Perfume, Miss Dior, was launched in 1947. This perfume was actually named after Christian’s sister. In 1956, this was Dior’s 10th anniversary. Christian also made it to the cover of Time magazine in the year 1957. A few top highlights where actresses are concerned, had large numbers of dresses made by Christian himself. Females that has been the face of Dior and involved in the Dior brand includes Charlize Theron (face of J’adore fragrance), Natalie Portman (starred in the “La Vie en Rose” fragrance film), Jennifer Lawrence (handbag line) and Marion Cotillard (face of Dior since 2009).

But moving on to the present, Rihanna is the new face of Dior and she is simply over the moon. Rihanna says this is a “Big deal”.  She also told MTV News “It feels fantastic. It is such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any colour.  I think to be acknowledged by Dior means a lot, as a woman, to feel beautiful – to feel elegant and timeless”. This announcement has made history considering the fact that she is the first and only black woman to be the face of the brand. Rihanna has begun filming the fourth video episode for the “Secret Garden” which is said to be released in spring time.  In this video, Rihanna can be seen walking around in stylish Dior dresses around the Palace of Versailles. The photographer involved in this video/shoot is Steven Klein.

Being a part of a brand as big as Dior, can only spark better and brighter opportunities in the future for Rihanna.  She has great achievements to her name and things are just getting better for this Barbadian beauty. This could be seen as a historical moment in the fashion industry years from now and open new doors to the world of diversity.
